RAMAPO STANDOUT GORMAN TO JOIN ROSTER FOR USA GARDEN STATE BASKETBALL EUROPEAN SUMMER TOUR
EAST HANOVER, N.J. – Pete Gorman, a first-team all-NJAC guard from Ramapo College, has been added to the roster for the USA Garden State Basketball team that will go on a 10-day European tour from June 21-30 with three games in Croatia and one in Slovenia, it was announced today. Gorman brings the number of commitments to 11 on what will eventually be a 12-player roster that will depart from Dubrovnik, Croatia, via Seabourn Cruise Lines. Games in Croatia will take place in Dubrovnik, Zadar and Opatija. There will also be a game in Koper, Slovenia. Former Notre Dame University and Point Pleasant Beach High School standout Matt Farrell will serve as the head coach for the team. Gorman led Ramapo, which finished 17-9, in scoring (17.7 ppg), assists (4.0 apg), free throw shooting (86.8 percent), 3-point shooting (42.6 percent) and minutes played (35.4 mpg). The 6-0 junior, who hails from South Amboy and played at Mater Dei High School, recorded his 1,000 th career point on Jan. 31. The tour will depart from Dubrovnik, Croatia, via Seabourn Cruise Lines, with games taking place in the Croatian cities of Dubrovnik, Zadar and Opatija. There will also be a game in Koper, Slovenia. The first game on the tour will be June 23 in Dubrovnik. College-aged players with ties to New Jersey – which includes either playing at a New Jersey college, having attended a New Jersey high school or having New Jersey roots – are eligible to participate.
