TCNJ’S SOLOMON, BENTLEY’S CARROLL ADDED TO ROSTER
FOR USA GARDEN STATE BASKETBALL EUROPEAN TOUR
EAST HANOVER, N.J. – Matt Solomon of The College of New Jersey and Joe Carroll of Bentley University are the latest additions to the roster for the USA Garden State Basketball team that will go on a 10-day European tour from June 21-30 with three games in Croatia and one in Slovenia, it was announced today. The two commitments bring the total to seven for what will eventually be a 12- player roster that will depart from Dubrovnik, Croatia, via Seabourn Cruise Lines. Games in Croatia will take place in Dubrovnik, Zadar and Opatija. There will also be a game in Koper, Slovenia. Solomon, a 6-7, 195-pound sophomore, helped Manasquan High School emerge as a Shore Conference power during his scholastic career. He joins former high school teammate Ben Roy on the roster for the European tour. Solomon has started all 20 games this year for the College of New Jersey, leading the Lions in rebounding at 9.9 rpg while averaging 12.1 points, second-best on the team, on 55.4 percent shooting. Carroll ̧ who hails from Cedar Grove, played scholastically at Don Bosco Prep before doing a post-graduate year at Blair Academy. The 6-6, 205-pound sophomore has appeared in all 20 games this year for Bentley, averaging 4.7 points and 2.5 rebounds. Solomon and Carroll join a roster that includes Roy, Florida Atlantic guard Nick Boyd, Princeton University sophomore teammates Vernon Collins and Jake Scott and Rutgers sophomore guard Derek Simpson.
